HOW TO JOIN PAK ARMED FORCES AS A COMMISSIONED OFFICER
There are three types of Commission to join Pak Armed Forces
- Regular/Permanent Commission (PC)
- Short Service Commission (SSC)
- Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) or Special Purpose Short Service Commission(SPSSC)
To join PAK ARMY through REGULAR COMMISSION, there is a PMA LONG COURSE & GRDAUTE COURSE. The basic qualification for PMA L/C is Intermediate while for GRADUATE COURSE is Graduation (2years). Training period at PMA KAKUL for PMA L/C is 2years & rank of 2ND LIEUTINENT will be awarded on completion of training. For GRADUATE COURSE training period at PMA KAKUL is of 1year & rank of LIEUTINENT will be awarded on completion of training.

- EDUCATION
- Marks – FA / FSc:
(b) Candidates who secure 60% mks or above in BA / BSc, BA / BSc (Hons) and BBA / BPA, with 50% mks in FA / FSc are eligible for PMA Long Course.
2.Relaxation of Marks – FA / FSc:
Minimum 55 percent marks for the candidates from specified area Area incl Balolchistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum Azad Jammu Kashmir, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil Bala Kot (Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtun Khwa, Tharparker and Tehsil Umer Kot in Sind,District Rajanpur, Area of Cholistan Desert, Drawer Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab, who have been actually studying in same areas.
3.Serving Army Soldiers
50 % marks in FA/FSc and equivalent.

4.Hope Certificate
Candidates who have passed Part-1 of Intermediate Examination with minimum 60% marks and have appeared/appearing in Part-II/Final Examination and whose result will be announced by 30Sep 2012 can also apply subject to provision of original Part1 Marks Sheet alongwith “Hope Certificate” by the Head of College/University that they have good chance of passing the final examination with minimum 60% marks. Such candidates will deposit their original Part-II Certificate/Mark Sheets alongwith 4 attested copies to GHQ PA Dte,PA-3(a) latest by 10 Oct 2012 otherwise their selection will not be processed further.

5.Verification of Marks Sheet / Certificate
Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric / Intermediate / BA / BSc MUST get a Verification Certificate signed by Secretary / Controller Examination of concerned Board / University.

6.A-Level Candidates
A level candidates applying in Pakistan with aggregate 60% marks are eligible without seeking equivalence certificate as calculated by IBCC. However, all candidates who have passed A level and equivalent examination from abroad are required to submit equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.

To join PAF through Permanent Commission candidate can apply for GD (PILOT), CAE (Colllege Of Aeronautical Engineering), A&SD (Admin & Special Duties), and AD (Air Defence). Permanent Commission of PAF announce twice in a year,each year it is announced in Feb-March &july-aug. Females can apply for permanent commission in PAF when announced in Feb-March. Rank of PILOT-OFFICER will be awarded to cadets on completion of 3years training at PAF ACADEMY ASGHAR KHAN,Risalpur. The basic educational qualification for PERMANENT COMMISSION describe below.

To join Pak Navy as a commissioned officer candidate have to apply for PN-CADET course. PN-CADET course also announce twice a year, in may & october. The basic qualification for PN CADET course is FSc. Rank of MIDSHIPMAN will be awarded on completion of training at PAKISTAN NAVAL ACCADEMY.
- EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Matric with F.SC or O/A level with 60% marks in any of the following subjects;
- Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
- Physics, Maths and Computer Science.
- Physics, Maths and Statistics.
O/A level qualifiers must have to submit equivalency certificates.Candidates having F.SC Part-I Clear and are appearing in Part-II may also apply on the basis of hope certificate, if they have attained minimum 65% marks in Inter part 1.
- INELLIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
2.Declared medically unfit by concerned CMH / Appeal Medical Board.
3.Enrolled cadets and recruits withdrawn / resigne / ddischarged / dismissed from Armed Forces (Army, Navy & Air Force) training academies/institutions on grounds of discipline, character, medical, inefficiency, weak profile, or declared unsuitable.
4.An individual dismissed/removed from any other Government Service.
5.Convicted by a Court of Law for an offense involving moral turpitude.
- REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
1. Army Selection & Recruitment Center
Candidates may report at nearest AS&RCs for registration / allotment of roll no along with necessary documents mentioned in para 6 and the prospectus fee for completion of registration formalities. Candidates will bring these documents on the day of test as well.
2. Online Registration
A candidate can register on website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk Date and time of test shall be intimated on internet. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on computerized roll no slip. Date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring along documents and will pay prospectus fee on the day of test. Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computer.

To join PAF through Short Service Commission, candidate should have following qualification & age to become elligible.Rank of Flying Officer will be awarded on completion of training at PAF Academy.
